About AI/ML Engineering Internship:-

Join IBM’s Automation and AI Group at the Silicon Valley Lab as an AI/ML Engineer Intern specialising in machine learning and Large Language Models (LLMs). You will collaborate with cross-functional product teams to implement cutting-edge AI/ML capabilities across IBM’s Automation product portfolio, leading efforts in data collection for LLM training, integrating LLM technologies, and establishing best practices.

Key Responsibilities:-

1. Design and implement robust data collection pipelines for LLM training datasets
2. Develop APIs and interfaces for seamless LLM integration with IBM products
3. Optimise LLM deployment for cloud, edge, and on-premises environments (model compression, quantisation)
4. Design prompt engineering frameworks for consistent LLM behaviour
5. Establish technical standards and best practices for AI/ML feature implementation
6. Develop monitoring systems for model performance, drift, and bias detection

Compensation & Benefits:-

• Salary Range: $90,720 – $166,320 per year (varies by skills and location)
• Benefits: Up to 8 paid holidays, minimum 56 hours paid sick time, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid family medical leave (where required)

Qualifications & Skills:-

1. Education: High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred (pending Bachelor’s/Master’s in CS, ML, AI, or related field)
2. Required Expertise: NLP and LLM knowledge (transformer architectures, model evaluation, algorithm design), Python programming, ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX), data processing pipelines, MLOps practices
3. Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, ability to work independently and collaborate across teams
4. Important Notes: No visa sponsorship provided. Must have the ability to work without current or future sponsorship. Travel up to 20% (1 day/week)
